If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit. – Banksy
How do you like blogging so far? I’ve been blogging for more than a year now, and I really like it… no wait… I LOVE IT!
Although I must admit that there was a time when I almost gave up blogging. As a newbie blogger, I was having a hard time trying to juggle my full-time job, my life, and learning how to run a blog.
Here’s what my typical day (Mon – Fri) looks like:
5:30 am – 6:30 am Get up and get ready for work. Have a cup of coffee with a slice of toast and eggs. Squeeze in some Twitter and Instagram time.
7:00 am – 5:30 pm Work, Work, Work ( I’m an operating room nurse, so it’s usually a non-stop busy day).
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Dinner with hubby. Blog for a few hours. Watch tv or catch up on my reading. A nice cup of chamomile tea before bed.
My schedule on weekends varies depending on if we need to attend social events or travel somewhere. If we have nothing planned, then I’ll be dedicating that precious time… blogging!
I’ll stay late until the wee hours of the morning. No wonder, after a few months, I was so tired, uninspired, and burned out. I’ve learned from that experience. So now, I step away from my blog if I feel the need to recharge.
Tanpopo Ramen
Last Saturday, I took a break from blogging. I had a stressful week, and I don’t have the energy to edit drafts or create a new post. I was craving for some ramen, so my hubby and I went to Tanpopo for lunch. We ordered a bowl of Tonkatsu and Beef Stew Ramen. The piping hot noodle was soooo good… it helped melt my stress away!
Washington Park
My hubby and I both love photography. We went to Washington Park and spent the whole afternoon enjoying nature and taking photos of anything that inspired us.
El Loco Mexican Cafe
After strolling around the park, we went to El Loco Mexican Cafe for dinner. We ordered this huge Burrito Grande that’s incredibly filling. To top off the evening, I had a refreshing drink of Piña Colada!
Do you take time off from blogging? How do you unplug from your blog and recharge? Feel free to share in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you so much for reading. Have a great week ahead!

I love pina colada! I dance or play the piano. Nice pictures by the way. 💕💕💕
Wow! That’s awesome that you can play the piano. I love to dance too. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I’ve made a concerted effort to go the gym on the weekends, but it is so hard to unplug. Learning when to put the laptop down and how to change up blog topics has been essentially to me.
Yup, it’s so hard to unplug. Once I start blogging, it’s really difficult to stop. I change up topics too once in a while, it makes writing more fun! Thank you so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your comment.
Thanks for sharing, I’ve been struggling managing my time with blogging and working full time too. What’s one of your best tips for time management?
To tell you the truth, I’m still trying to figure it out. It’s really hard when you have a full time job. Right now, I’m trying to balance everything by setting time limits to my blogging time. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re writing, and forget about other areas of your life that needs attention too.
It sure is and family always comes first! ❤
My days are extremely busy, I used to post 4 days a week, cut it down to 3; no weekends. Needed to focus more of my attention on home life. Blessings!
Hi Warren. I think that’s awesome that you are able to post 3 days a week. I wish I could do that too. But, I’m already having a hard time posting 3 times per month 🙂 Blessings!
Always a pleasure hearing your heart, blessings!
I use to post every day. I like to follow up on all comments on my blog and I get a lot of them. When they start building up I get overwhelmed so I don’t submit a post so I can get caught up on messages.
I really admire bloggers who takes time to reply to comments. Thank you so much Dianne for connecting with me. I really appreciate all your comments.
Taking time off helps you recharge. Isn’t it so?
Yes, it surely does!
great!
So glad to hear how much you love blogging. But taking a break is so important to! Blogging is my job now but I find it so hard to take time off because I love it so much!
Hi Jenny! Thanks for visiting my blog. Wish I could blog full-time someday too.
I usually take time off blogging when I have scheduled for the month. I t is hard for me to shut my brain off on a normal day because of all the inspiration and stimuli around me. So, I get into new movies at the theater or go see bands or concerts playing because I love entertainment!!
True. When inspiration strikes, it’s really hard to shut off your brain. I love watching movies and concerts too. What kind of movies do you like to watch?
I love comedy and horror movies these days, how about you?
I love action/adventure and romantic comedy 🙂
Those photographs are beautiful. I like to take some time off social media and blog.. or I schedule content so that I am “active” even when I am not. Thank you for sharing your day off xx

Blogging is never easy, especially when you have so many different things to do. Love that you’re a nurse – keep doing what you do! The ramen looks delicious! You can never go wrong with it. Oh wow, the burrito looks HUGE! I try to take half of the week off from blogging every week, which is why I am MIA Monday-Wednesday :’). This gives me time to focus on other things in my life. Thanks for sharing!

Now I know why you’re MIA from Mon-Weds 🙂 I take longer blogging breaks too, especially when things get overwhelming.

There are days when I’ve wanted to give up blogging as well but writing is so, so therapeutic. Despite those days, I’m glad you decided to stay and continue blogging. Also, happy anniversary in the blogging world!

I’ve been blogging for more than 4 years now, and I always make sure to take a day off, because just like you, we deserved to have a rest as well. I’m really impressed with how you manage your everyday life.
