12 Fun Date Ideas for Every Season

It can be challenging to come up with date ideas. A candlelight dinner at a fancy restaurant sounds really romantic, but sometimes my hubby and I just want to do something different.

Fortunately, a quick internet search yielded a lot of exciting things to do. And, I’d like to share with you why we love these fun date ideas.

SPRING

MET Museum

1. Day Trips

We don’t like to travel during winter. So, we always welcome the arrival of spring by exploring new places in nearby towns or cities.

2. Museums

Spring weather can be unpredictable. On wet days, why not visit the museum? We had fun checking out the different artworks and artifacts at the MET. It was our first time to visit the museum, and we were pretty much amazed at what we saw.

3. Flower Festivals

Abraham and I had a great time at the Tulip Festival last week. It’s one of the most budget-friendly events in our city (FREE entrance and FREE concert). All we needed was a few bucks for food and drinks.

4. Coastal Towns

Stunning views, tasty eateries, quaint shops… these are just some of the reasons why we love to visit these charming towns.

5. Fireworks Dinner Cruise

Last year, we decided to celebrate Independence Day with a BANG! We were on board Lac du Saint Sacrement for a lovely dinner buffet; followed by a 4th of July fireworks display on Lake George, NY.

6.  State Fairs

What’s not to love? Food, music, rides, and a lot more! One of our must-do this summer is to go to The Great New York State Fair. We haven’t been to this fair, so we are quite excited!

Fall

7. Leaf Peeping

Drive or hop on a bus tour to see the beautiful autumn foliage. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the vibrant fall makeover.

8. Spooky Tours

Salem, Massachusetts comes to life each October for a month-long festival. There are a lot of things to do: ghost tours, haunted houses, and so much more!

9. Apple Picking

We went to Indian Ladder Farms to pick some apples last fall. After we filled our bags, we explored the farm market and cafe. To our surprise, it was a fun place to hang out, eat, drink, and listen to live music!

WINTER

10. Holiday Sightseeing

One of our favorite things to do is to visit NYC during the holidays. We would stroll around the Winter Village at Bryant Park where you’ll find a huge Christmas Tree, ice-skating rink, holiday shops, and delicious treats.

11. Local Bars and Restaurants

We prefer to “hibernate” during winter, but we do love to go out and try different local bars and restaurants. For special nights, we’ll go to a nice Italian restaurant. Most of the time, we are happy with dim sum & tea or calamari & beer.

12. Broadway Shows

I Dreamed A Dream… I held Abraham’s hand as Fantine sang this song. Years ago, we only dreamt of watching Les Miserables. We were so glad that we finally got the chance to see it!

Please check out the What & Where section below for more info on Broadway Shows that are currently performing in more than 240 cities across North America.

  3. Great ideas. My husband and I like to find fun free stuff to do – free concerts in the park, farmer’s markets, water wise/ butterfly gardens etc. It’s amazing what you find if you look around.
