It’s only the 2nd week of November and winter has begun in New York. I looked out the window and watched the first snow falling from the sky. Though winter is not my favorite season, I can’t help but smile as I recall how my hubby and I enjoyed the first day of snow last year in NYC. Here are the highlights…
Rockefeller Center
New Yorkers and tourists from around the world visit the Rockefeller Center every year to see the large Christmas Tree and the beautiful decorations.
The holidays brought in a lot of people, and it’s really tough to move around and take pictures. However, the crowd nor the cold weather didn’t stop us from stopping by this iconic NYC landmark.
The 2018 Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on November 28 at Rockefeller Plaza. The tree will remain on display until January 7, 2019.
St Patrick’s Cathedral
The church is the largest Neo-Gothic-style Catholic cathedral in North America.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of 5th Avenue, we stepped into the cathedral and found… beauty and peace.
Saks 5th Avenue
Tons of people waited on the streets for the spectacular Saks 5th Avenue Holiday Light Show.
The next unveiling of the lovely holiday windows and light show will be on November 19, 2018 at 7 pm Eastern Time. If you’re unable to visit NYC around that time, don’t worry because the free show will continue throughout the holiday season.

It’s a great time to visit – just be prepared for the freezing weather. You’ll love the holiday windows and the Christmas decorations. I want to visit NYC again and watch the Rockettes (Christmas Spectacular) at Radio City someday……

Fun post! I get so nostalgic for NY! Though I don’t miss the crush of people during the holidays. I used to go to one of the restaurants under rock center and get a table by the window for a view of the skaters and tree. It’s not free but it is warm. 🙂

That’s actually a great idea – go to one of the restos. We just watched the skaters from afar, it was hard to get closer to the plaza. I was also mesmerized by the Saks 5th Ave Holiday Light Show….had that nice “Christmassy” feeling until people started pushing each other…… it was hard to get out from that crowd! LOL!

You’re so cute, looking bundled up! It is so cool that it’s snowing out in NY! Meanwhile, it’s still sunny in LA. I love the places you’ve visited! St. Patrick’s Cathedral looks amazing. Are you actually in Europe instead? Just kidding, hehe. Saks 5th Ave KNOWS how to decorate!
